USDOT lookup

USDOT lookup is a tool that drivers can use to check If their DOT is in compliance

Many trackers when starting their tracking business do not expect to have so many compliance requirements. A USDOT lookup is one of the most basic ways to check your DOT compliance.

At American carrier compliance we help drivers to analyze their business structure and help them to better understand their DOT compliance requirements.

USDOT Lookup, what to look for?

What to look for when preforming a USDOT look up?

When providing your DOT number the agent will be able to find information about your business operation. Our specialist will first need to confirm some basic information for the ownership of the DOT number to make sure it is matching the information on the FMCSA system, such as:

1. The name of the company that the USDOT number is registered under.

2. If your business has a trade name than you will provide this name as well

3. The principal address of your business

The first thing that the agent will check will be the MCS-150 Form date. Base on your DOT number the agent will be able to tell if you are due for your USDOT Biennial update and if you are in compliance, she will give you the exact month on which your compliance will be due.

The USDOT lookup is a great way to check your DOT compliance and to verify that the FMCSA have the most updated information about your business.

Other information that you should verify:

1. Operation classification

2. Carrier operation

3. Cargo carried

4. Your fleet size

5. Number of drivers in your fleet
